Aniyan Midhun

Aniyan Midhun entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 5 from the world of martial arts rather than film or television. Wushu Sanda, the full-contact combat form of Wushu, has been the central discipline in his sporting background.

During the programme, Midhun spoke about beginning training while at school and about competing through clubs and working with coaches in the sport. Some of the claims he made about his competitive record later became a subject of discussion inside and outside the show.

Another major controversy arose from a story he narrated in the house about a woman serving as a commando. The account was questioned during the season, and in a later interview Midhun acknowledged that the story had been fabricated.

He nevertheless remained in the competition for a substantial period before eviction. His Season 5 appearance brought Wushu into mainstream reality-show discussion in Kerala, while also making his sporting claims and television persona subjects of public scrutiny.
