Hanan Hamid

Hanan Hamid first became widely known in Kerala in 2018, years before her Bigg Boss appearance. At the time, she was a college student taking up different jobs to support herself, including selling fish in Kochi after attending classes.

The attention around that story quickly became intense, with both public support and online abuse following the reports. Hanan also had interests in music and performance, and her earlier creative work included singing, writing and junior-artist assignments.

Later in 2018, a serious road accident left her needing prolonged treatment and rehabilitation. She gradually returned to public life, documenting parts of her recovery and later starting a fish-selling venture under the name Hanan's Viral Fish.

In April 2023, Hanan entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 5 as its first wildcard contestant. Her stay was brief because health concerns required medical evaluation and eventually forced her to leave the house. Even so, the programme added a new television chapter to a public story that had already involved education, work, creativity and recovery.
