Adhila Nasarin

Cybersecurity analyst and activist • Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 Contestant

Biography

Adhila Nasarin is a prominent Indian cybersecurity professional, LGBTQ+ rights advocate, and media personality who rose to national fame as a symbol of resilience and modern activism. Born around 1999 or 2000 and hailing from Aluva in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, she spent a significant portion of her early life and schooling in Saudi Arabia. It was during her high school years in Saudi Arabia—specifically during her 11th and 12th standards—that she met her long-term partner, Fathima Noora. Adhila’s academic background is rooted in technology; she completed her undergraduate studies in Kerala and established a professional career as a cybersecurity analyst and IT professional, a role she continues to balance alongside her public advocacy.

Her journey into the public eye was marked by a landmark legal battle that fundamentally shifted the landscape of civil rights for same-sex couples in India. After returning to Kerala, Adhila and Noora faced severe opposition from their families, which led to their forced separation and instances of physical and psychological abuse. In 2022, Adhila took the courageous step of filing a habeas corpus petition in the Kerala High Court to reunite with Noora, who had been taken away by her parents. The resulting judgment was a historic milestone, with the court ruling that mutually consenting adults have the right to live together regardless of their gender. This victory transformed Adhila into a leading voice for the queer community in India, eventually leading her to share her story on prestigious platforms such as TEDx, where she spoke at TEDxGECRIT about self-discovery and the fight for identity.

In 2025, Adhila expanded her reach into mainstream entertainment by participating in the reality television show Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7. Entering the house alongside Noora as a "single entry" couple, she made history as part of the first openly lesbian couple to participate in the Indian version of the franchise. Throughout her 95-day stay in the house, she was noted for her calm demeanor, emotional strength, and her ability to confront prejudice with dignity, particularly when host Mohanlal famously stepped in to defend the couple against discriminatory remarks from other contestants. Although she was evicted just days before the grand finale, her participation was widely viewed as a breakthrough for inclusivity and representation in regional television.

Beyond her television appearances, Adhila is a successful digital content creator with a massive following on social media. She utilizes platforms like Instagram and YouTube to share vlogs, lifestyle content, and educational videos about LGBTQ+ sensitivity, often collaborating with her partner to document their daily lives and professional milestones. Her transition from a legal petitioner to a mainstream celebrity has made her one of the most recognizable figures in Kerala’s contemporary cultural dialogue. Today, she continues to work in the cybersecurity sector while maintaining an active presence in the digital space, where she is celebrated for her authenticity and her role in normalizing diverse relationships for a new generation of viewers.
