Sudeepa

Biography

Since his debut in 2013, Kichcha Sudeepa has been the defining face of Bigg Boss Kannada, serving as the primary host for 12 consecutive seasons. His involvement began with the show’s inaugural season on ETV Kannada and has continued across various networks, including Star Suvarna and Colors Kannada. Over more than a decade, Sudeepa has hosted over 350 weekend episodes, becoming synonymous with the Kannada-language adaptation of the global Big Brother franchise. His tenure also includes hosting special iterations of the show, such as the Bigg Boss Kannada Mini Season (2021) and the first season of Bigg Boss Kannada OTT (2022).

Sudeepa’s hosting style is characterized by his signature weekend segments, most notably "Varada Kathe Kicchana Jothe" (The Week’s Story with Kiccha), where he reviews the housemates' performances and handles evictions. Throughout his tenure, he has been known for maintaining a balanced yet firm approach, often intervening during high-tension moments. One of the most significant events in the show's history occurred in Season 3, when contestant Huccha Venkat was directly evicted for physically assaulting a fellow housemate. Sudeepa famously condemned the violence and even threatened to step down as host unless strict action was taken and a public apology was issued, reinforcing his role as the show’s moral compass.

The journey reached a pivotal turning point in October 2024, during Season 11, when Sudeepa announced his intention to quit the show, citing a need to move on and focusing on "hidden agendas" and a lack of acknowledged effort from some organizers. The announcement caused a significant stir among fans, leading to widespread speculation about the show's future without its iconic leader. However, following discussions with the production team and immense pressure from his audience, Sudeepa reversed his decision in July 2025. He signed a new four-year contract, committing to host the show until Season 15, and successfully completed Season 12 in January 2026.
