Jeet
Biography
Jeet, a prominent figure in the Bengali film industry, significantly expanded his television presence by taking on the role of host for the second season of Bigg Boss Bangla. This Bengali-language adaptation of the popular reality franchise premiered on Colors Bangla on April 4, 2016. Transitioning from the first season's host, Mithun Chakraborty, Jeet brought a fresh energy to the show, guiding 15 contestants through a 98-day journey that ultimately concluded on July 15, 2016. His tenure was marked by a blend of his signature charisma and a firm hand in managing the high-pressure environment of the Bigg Boss house.
The second season was notable for its shift in production to Lonavala and the introduction of a more detailed visual identity, featuring the "Eye" logo with the tagline "Byata Dumukho." During his time as host, Jeet was responsible for presiding over various high-stakes moments, including the ejection of contestant Joey and the management of several heated confrontations between housemates like Joyjit Banerjee and Shilajit Majumder. His ability to balance the entertainment aspect with the gravity of eliminations earned him "rave reviews" from the audience, cementing his status as a versatile television presenter alongside his established acting career.
While the show was discontinued after the second season for several years, recent reports in 2025 and early 2026 suggest that a third season is in development, with former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly expected to take over the hosting mantle. Jeet’s involvement with the franchise remains a standout chapter in his career, often cited as a successful example of a regional superstar bridging the gap between cinema and reality television. His season remains the final one aired to date, concluding with Joyjit Banerjee emerging as the winner under Jeet’s guidance.
