Dipendu Biswas

Dipendu Biswas is a retired Indian professional footballer and former legislator from Basirhat, West Bengal. He is one of the few Season 3 contestants whose public career was built primarily in sport rather than entertainment.

Dipendu graduated from the Tata Football Academy in 1996 and played as a forward for major Kolkata clubs including Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting. He also represented Bengal and is associated with honours including the Santosh Trophy and IFA Shield.

After his playing career, Dipendu remained involved in football administration and became football secretary of Mohammedan Sporting Club. His public life also extended into politics: he served as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from the Basirhat Dakshin constituency from 2016 to 2021.

He entered Bigg Boss Bangla Season 3 during the 30 August 2026 grand premiere, bringing professional sports discipline and political/public-life experience into the house. In Week 1 he was among the contestants placed in the Dugout / nomination zone.
